V1-4 Don’t show favoritism. Don’t favor the rich.
Because:
– V5 Humility in Christ. Christ chose us when we did not deserve it.
– V8 The royal law found in Scripture, “Love your neighbor as yourself”
– V12-13 We will be judged by the law.
“Judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful.”
We are guilty of breaking the law in V8. V10 “For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.”…. but V13 “Mercy triumphs over judgment.” for those who repent. (See 1 John 1:9)
