California – July 12-27

By | July 28, 2005

I was in California for some time, learning piano from a friend and vacationing around the area.

During this time, I was reminded that I should be full of gratitude and hope. Did you know that grace and gratitude have the same greek root? I received a call on my cell phone from Liberty Law School. They encouraged me to attend there by giving me a scholarship. After much contemplating, I decided to go there. Despite what I perceive as an array of complex decisions before me, I know that God is working and that he is trustworthy and good. The comfort for Christians is that God will work things out to their good. (Rom 8:28)

I enjoyed spending time with my parents and driving a Magnum. While reading some Christian books, I was reminded that the gospel message is one of power, not just of talk. It was a timely message and one that I need to remind myself to take to heart. This world can be so apparently “hopeless” but this is only because I lack faith.
