First Week of Classes

Pro-bloggers recommend focusing on one topic in each blog. I’m rather random… sorry. I’ll do better next time.

So, my first week of school is over… I’ve been getting used to bon-appetite food and my new class schedule. Classes are starting to roll. I’m getting used to reading again and the art of practicing discipline.

This 3 day weekend was filled with a lot of sports/reading/sleeping/eating.

On Sunday, I went to the OPC for morning worship, then Hillcrest for evening. Pastor Dodds preached on Revelations. The beginning of the sermon was full of factual information, but by the end, it all tied together and was very practical. College fellowship had a lot of new freshmen. Jon was able to get a guy from his hall to go, but most of the new freshies seem to be girls.

Today, I went to McConnell’s Mills with 6 others, mainly Hillcrest people. We hiked a bit. It was nice to reflect on God’s creation again and be still.

Random thoughts:
– It was nice to have time to talk to some close friends. We were able to share our prayer requests. It’s great to have the camaraderie of friends to share experiences with. Praise God for his faithfulness.
– “Come near to God, and he will come near to you.” – James 4:8. I should pray more.
– I am excited that more spiritual stuff will get rolling; for example, College Fellowship, New Life, or the book study the guys will be doing.
– I have so much to be thankful for.
– I should remember that I’m doing my studies for God’s glory.
