The Past Weekend

Canoeing got moved to August 21st, so I can go to a wedding on the 14th. I hope my parents are not in China for a business trip that Saturday.

Friday
Friday was cleaning night, since some families in my parent’s cell group would be coming over the next day.

Saturday
Saturday I went to a men’s fellowship breakfast. I woke up earlier than I was used to for a Saturday. Josh, Jon, Ben and I met for lunch to discuss a message that we listened to during the week. A few hours later, we ate ice cream, then Danny and I led cell group. We covered 1 Peter 1:1-12. For dinner, I stopped by Josh’s house.

Sunday
Our church meets in a school building that we rent. After worship and lunch, a group of us played basketball in the gym. After that my family went to the grocery market a few blocks away. My parents stocked up on vegetables. They have these new high-tech shopping carts that lock up and won’t move once you try to take them out of the parking lot. Then I went to my grandparents (dad’s side) for dinner.

After that, I stopped by my uncle’s house (mom’s side). I got to meet my new cousin, born a few weeks ago, for the first time, since I was in D.C. when she was born. I got to play with my twin cousins, Grace and Sarah. They are two years old and are very cute. They are learning to speak. They can walk, but they look wobbly and cute when they walk. My cousin’s, Steven and Eric, showed me pictures of their uncle. Steven and Eric are mixed. They were visiting and currently live in Indiana. Their uncle was Mr. America.

Before we left, we prayed for my mom’s dad since he has prostate cancer.
