A day with Christ’s Body

The preaching and worship at FCC was astounding as usual. What did I learn about the service that I can take back with me?
– Very strong personal care and prayer support… during service they prayed for those who are working in tough environments, those who feel that they are “alone.”
– Not afraid to engage the culture. Mentioned that there are free information sheets about homosexuality in the lobby since there is much of this stuff going around in culture today.
– Commended good servants. I had seen them applaud the pastor a few weeks ago, but now they applauded those who helped with getting their new TV screens up. This is Biblical praise for man’s effort…. although the glory goes all to God.

At 2:30 we played football… a very fun time of fellowship, where good sportsmanship was exibited by the majority. Next, we played basketball.

Praise and Prayer session at 6:30-8:30. This was a relaxing and edifying experience for me. We prayed for the development of our spiritual gifts. I prayed for wisdom and discernment.

Reflections…Why do we do what we do? Is it biblical?
Asking for Tongues and other spiritual gifts?
Annointing of oil… James 5

In essentials unity, in non-essentials liberty, in all things charity. – Rupertus Meldenius (not Augustine)
