Sunday’s Events

Today, I went to Fairfax Covenant Church (FCC) for the second time…. this time without Lenny and Amy. I witnessed water baptism. Although they submerged, this church is thoroughly Reformed. Little differences should not separate Christians. The testimonies given before the baptism remind me the the power of God’s grace. This church often forcuses on God’s grace… The Pastor and congregation are centered on the Cross in everything. This Cross Centered church reminds me that the reformed faith should not be simply “academic” (as some characterize reformed) but “practical.” Understanding God’s grace should lead to true application of the teachings and change in life and also lead to a heart of praise and worship to God.

Those who missed the “Celebration” conference that the Sovereign Grace churches went to can get a CD with the messages. I will be sure to do that. The FCC college care group discussed the messages at Friday fellowship. I was just thinking that I would benefit from the messages, and God has answered my request.

In the FCC bookstore, I bought:
– Systematic Theology by Wayne Grudem (for myself)
– Dear Timothy, Letters on Pastoral Ministry (for myself or seminary people?)
– Advice for Seekers – C. H. Spurgeon (for my Uncle)

I went to eat Mexican food with Jeff Fox’s family. Then we briefly visited his house before heading over to a 3 hour ballet. Very kind of his parents to treat and invite me over. Despite falling asleep during the performance, I feel cultured now. Ballet appears graceful and easy but beneath the surface, lots of practice and hard work go into it. It must be very tiring.

Got back to Uncle Tong’s at 7 p.m. Ate dinner. Then went to see a neighbor who will hire me to design him a simple website.
