Contentment

God has been teaching me to be content. (Not to say that I am a master of it now… far from it. I can not feign humility.)

I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.” – Philippians 4:11

It is so easy to think of the bad things that have happened to me in the weeks. I had a pneumothorax, a computer stolen, a dear cousin pass away, and I can make up a list of many other things to complain about. However, now I see that God will/has used these experiences for His own glory. I did not see things properly.

I have been blessed with so many possessions. I have been blessed with family and friends. I have been blessed with the gift of life. Because of these trials, I am reminded to value the gifts God has given me so much more.

Oh, there is so much to praise God for! My trials have helped me to develop closer relationships with friends. By the way, I have a sweet suite. Trials have reminded me to enjoy life as a gift from God. Most importantly, trials have pushed me to fellowship with God.

Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.” – James 1:2-3

No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.” – 1 Corinthians 10:13
