Thanksgiving and Rejoicing, a Must for Believers

By | November 20, 2005

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. – Phil 4:4-7

In morning worship, Dr. Schultz explained that we often fail to give thanks because we like to fret and worry and depend on ourselves. I need to be aware of instances when I am anxious and discontent. It is then that I need to remind myself not to worry, but to depend on God. This was a timely sermon, in light of upcoming finals and the holiday season.
